This paper empirically analyzes the factors that influence happiness in Latin America, specifically in Peru, Colombia and Mexico between the years 2005 and 2007. There was estimated a logistic-binomial model to explain the state of happiness reported by a sub-sample taken from the last wave of the World Value Survey for the studied countries. Among the variables considered for this study were sex, age, educational level, income, employment, health and marital status reported by the respondent in the survey. The results indicate that marital status has a significant impact on levels of happiness reported by the respondent as well as the level of education; however, the income level is not significant in this area.
