The need to enjoy data is increasingly evident every day, which is why Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has become an essential tool for organizations in reducing the digital gap, and with the support of Big Data creates a strategy that allows them to achieve multiple advantages with the handling of a cluster of data. In the present investigation, a documentary analysis methodology was used, whose fundamental purpose was to analyze Big Data as a strategy to reduce the digital gap in the Caribbean Region, Colombia; For this, three sections were developed: Big Data and its benefits with its applicability in the economic sectors and parts of the world, research carried out in the field of the application of Big Data in Colombia and, finally, actions that organizations must follow to face new technological challenges (Big Data) and reduce the digital gap. It was concluded that this strategy has been applied in a great economic context, from the area of health, tourism, education, politics; as well as various parts of the world: Panama, Spain, China, the United States, Cuba, San Salvador, Costa Rica and others; obtaining favorable results from increased profitability such as greater market reach, potential customers, and innovation of products and services.
