The health-related quality of life (HRQoL) allows evaluating the health status perceived by people based on a health condition or disability, in turn it is a sensitive indicator to design, implement and evaluate health and rehabilitation programs. Goals. Establish the characteristics of quality of life related to health and relate them to sociodemographic variables, disability and variables typical of belonging to the comprehensive care program for disability of the Municipality of Neiva. Method. A quantitative, observational descriptive study, the population consisted of 511. The SF-36 questionnaire was applied to a sample of 200 people selected randomly from a table of random numbers built in Excel, using the database provided by the Departmental Secretariat from Huila. Study inclusion and exclusion criteria. Being over 20 years old at the time of the evaluation and belonging to the Comprehensive Care Program of the Municipality of Neiva for more than 6 months, having a permanent limitation in mobility activities due to any etiology, having at least 6 months of evolution of deficiency (dysfunction, disease, trauma), agree to participate in the study by signing the informed consent and have no limitation for learning activities and application of knowledge that prevent the completion of the quality of life perception questionnaire. Results. The dimensions of the SF 36 with the best scores were mental health, vitality and social function. Low average scores were found in dimensions such as physical function, emotional role and physical role. Occupation was significantly related to the general health dimension (p <0.00) and the correlation was regular (eta 0.471). The dimension of body pain was statistically significant with the limitation of walking (p value 0.022), standing (p value 0.021) and sitting (p value 0.010), however the strength of the association was positive but very weak (eta ≤ 0.17).
