Language crosses the majority of our experiences: from the subjectivity configuration to the legitimation of social structures, where we inscribe our practices. Starting from the idea of social convention of the linguistic sign, this research explores the uses of language that justifies the way heterosexual and cisgender collectivities exercise power. In this way, this work reflects on how sexual and gender minorities escape from injurious naming, and how they create new possibilities to confront them. This inquiry exercise is aimed to answer the question: how do the sexual and gender dissidents resignify the insults to configure their subjectivity? The method used to collate data was Grounded Theory, where semi-structured interviews were used to analyze double-function statements: The statements open linguistics wounds, but also they can enable resistance by the resignification of their signifiers. First, in this work, it is explored the relationship between language and ideology. Second, it is shown how people go through linguistics wounds.
