This research presents fundamental aspects for understanding the relationship between the subsidized health regime and the indices of labor informality, identifying how through the implementation of a Universal Health System together with the application of legislative measures such as the minimum protection floor social, it is possible to decrease the informality indexes and increase the coverage for the contingencies due to old age and occupational risks. A universal health system is proposed, by virtue of which, the contributory and subsidized regime is unified in which not only insurance is guaranteed, but also access and coverage in health care eliminating its barriers that provides comprehensive services to all contingencies and that it has a multisectoral approach to address the different factors that affect health from the perspective of social determinants. Based on the literature review, the current state of informality in Colombia and the generalities of the Colombian Health System are presented, based on the fact that one of the causes of informality in Colombia is the Subsidized Regime, said regime is conceived under a series of conditions that become incentives for people to remain in the informal sector or not find it viable to be formal workers, in what has to do with comprehensive protection that additionally includes coverage in pensions and occupational risks.
