In the field under evaluation, a depletion of the natural energy of the reservoir has been presented, first at all by the loss of pressure that is generated by depletion, which occurs as a function of time and production, this generate a series of consequences that affect, in first place, the economic benefit of the field, also a remaining oil saturation greater than 80% and with this a failure to comply with the oil production rates predicted by the reservoir engineers. In the investigation for increasing production in the field, arose the necessity to evaluate a water injection process through numerical and analytical simulation specifically in the Mugrosa Arena B2 formation, where the expected result will be to optimize the efficiency of the sweep of the remaining oil and the pressure of the reservoir, based on analytical methods and numerical simulation, also achieving an increase in oil production, economic benefits and field reserves. This recovery process will be evaluated because of to the ease operational that the process requires and the low cost of water, because it is captured from nearby water sources that are authorized by environmental protection entities or also making use of the produced water which is treated and reinjected as a secondary recovery method.
