The feeding in university is related to diseases not communicable, overweight and obesity mainly. Objective: To determine how the labeling of menus is a factor that influences the purchase of the lunch menu, in students of the Pontifical Javeriana University. Materials and methods: The study was descriptive observational exploratory cross-section, where randomly and individually, a semi-structured survey was applied, using a menu, to see the associations between the categories of Menu labeling relative to the Student menu selection ratio. We performed statistical analysis and narrative, using: Microsoft Excel 2013, SPSS version 17.0 and Nvivo version 12.0. Results: Nutritional labeling was not a purchasing choice factor, while price and taste, if. 89%, reads the screen that declares the menu and nutritional contribution; and 5% check the website. Menu tagging was associated with the overview of the menus, while eating healthy to the type of food; like fruits and vegetables specifically. On the other hand, the healthy diet ratio was positively associated with the nutritional information category according to the SA-PUJ. Conclusions: The price was the main determinant of purchase. The perception against the concept of menu labeling was given to the general information of the menu and the healthy feeding to the foods that compose it. Finally, there was a positive association between the nutritional information category according to SA-PUJ and the healthy eating ratio.
