Research on parallel trials in the media in high-impact criminal cases is relevant in a context such as ours because, as it has been properly called, the media are considered the fourth estate and therefore, all that information that the media disseminates will have an effect on all spheres of society. This is why through this investigative work, it is sought to show how the media through the agenda-setting manage to create imaginary of justice that permeate the public and in one way or another mark an instructive of the course that the processes should take to arrive at the ideal of justice that the same means raise. As part of the problem, the media usually fall into the irresponsible handling of sensitive information regarding relevant criminal cases and ignore what this may imply for the rights of the person under investigation and their image in front of society. It is here where the present work comes to play an important role because it aims to develop an analysis of the content of the publications of the newspapers El Tiempo and El Espectador of the case of Luis Andres Colmenares to determine if said publications meet the standards of minimum journalistic quality, which will determine the way in which the information is perceived. Regarding the choice of case, it is relevant to analyze this one in particular: the case of Luis Andres Colmenares, because it was important in Colombia for several years and also caused a lot of controversy due to the context in which it was developed. The analysis of this case will be carried out by identifying the most important milestones that changed the course of the process or showed progress, sometimes the milestones analyzed will correspond to events that are not typical of the daily 'life' of the process, but were the product of an event unexpected in the middle of it.
