Aplicación del concepto de biorrefinería a la pulpa de café, mediante extracción fitoquímica y procesos termoquímicos, para la obtención de productos de alto valor agregado
Coffee is the Colombian flagship product, it is traded as the second legal product in the world markets and in its process of profit, are generated many by-products, that can cause environmental damage, including their pulp, which represents around of 40% of cherry coffee and is conventionally used as fertilizer, animal feed and / or low-quality fuel. In this work, it is intended to evaluate and study, the energy potential and the obtaining of phytochemical extracts of high added value of that of the coffee pulp, using the concept of biorefinery. The pulp will be obtained from a farm located in Thames (ANT) and it will be subjected to solvent extraction and subsequent thermochemical treatment, to obtain polyphenols and a SYNGAS suitable for the catalytic synthesis of methanol. All experiments associated with phytochemical extraction and production of SYNGAS will be based on sustainability parameters of green chemistry and processes that cannot be carried out experimentally, due to their complexity, such as methanol synthesis, will be simulated using specialized software, with local conditions determined during the experimental stage. From this work, it is expected to obtain a new alternative to add value for agroindustrial waste in Colombia, in this case coffee pulp, through the application of the concept of biorefinery and the principles of economic, environmental and social sustainability.
