Large predators such as the jaguar play an important role in the well-being of the ecosystem due to their control over other species. Their habitat has been reduced by the growth of human activities and this has led to a human-carnivore conflict with negative effects for both parties. To reduce this conflict, models and methods have been created, mainly aimed at the feline conflict with the farmers, which is the main conflict and about which there is more information. Despite this, there is difficulty in applying the strategies, associated with the lack of cooperation of the farmers, a situation that has made it difficult to have concrete data on their effectiveness. As a particular case in Hato la Aurora, where some strategies and methods have been applied in cooperation with ranchers, there has been a decrease in the predation of livestock by the jaguar, helping to reduce the conflict with humans. This example has shown that to provide solutions to the conflict, it is also important to give people adequate training about the importance of predators in the ecosystem and us.
