The Andina Brewery; This small factory, which focused its production on a single site since 1950, was the first industrial complex to be located in the West Florida neighborhood and which would promote the establishment of other industries from there on. Since February 18, 1950, it received a great reception by the country, positioning it in its golden years as the second with the highest beer production after Bavaria at the national level. Its imposing dimensions, the use of strong materials such as concrete, iron and brick present in all its facades define it as a living image of modern industrial architecture. Within it, each building along with its function was raised according to the beer production process, innovating mainly in technological aspects that would specify its historical richness, contributing to three of its buildings being defined as Asset of Cultural Interest of the district. Sadly, the period of plenitude ends for Andina and its final closure detonates in nine years of complete abandonment; bringing with it deterioration, ruin and, above all, oblivion. Although today part of the industrial complex is used as a parking lot, those historical, technical and symbolic elements that for decades highlighted the value of Cerveceria Andina are in decline today. However, from the design of the Urban Renovation project for 2025 of the Bavarian Triangle that frames its design in the western Florida neighborhood, there is a new opportunity for this industrial giant based on its restoration as proposed in the aforementioned project, Since for its conservation for many more years, the Brewery must be revitalized with a new defined use that focuses on an evident need within Bogota: the connection of current transport systems (Transmilenio) with new public transport alternatives such as They are the Regiotram, and the Bogota Metro. Due to its strategic location on NQS Avenue, corridor of a connecting line of the Transmilenio system, and its proximity to the old railroad that is waiting to be renewed with the planning of the North, South and West Regiotram routes, the old Brewery, it becomes a key node for the junction of the two transportation systems, which, continuing with their routes, would end their journey at the Sabana Station and connect with the Metro line on Avenida Caracas. The evident need in Bogota's mobility system defines the use for the Brewery: a multimodal transport station on a metropolitan scale. The intervention of the Brewery based on the new use of the Multimodal Station is defined by the concept of revitalizing, seeking to highlight those elements that exalt the value of the complex: its materiality, its physical spatial distribution, and its historical relevance. Therefore, a contemporary language will harmonize with what is currently. Through a judicious evaluation process of each of the buildings that currently exist, the possible actions to be carried out within the design and the uses that each space could have are defined. On the other hand, the revitalization of the Old Andean Brewery, based on the urban projects defined for the year 2025, will go hand in hand with its surroundings, it is a project that as a connecting node harmonizes and contributes to its surroundings through spaces designed with meaning: The Transmilenio route connects underground with the station, facilitating access to the courtyards and avoiding congestion with vehicular routes, and the regiotram lines connect with Block A, a complementary building of the Andean Multimodal Station. Inside the large central square that recalls the past of the brewery and its break into two new levels that focus on food and commerce activities, the scars of the large silos are symbolically revitalized with new uses in their brands , the levels originally seen in the brewery are maintained but open to the opportunity of uses such as dynamic rooms, waiting rooms, restaurants, co-working rooms, offices, a special place such as the memorial, where pieces are exhibited the history of the Cerveceria Andina, and the viewpoints; key points within the new station where the height of the existing buildings is used to contemplate the city from another point.
