Suicide is a priority public health problem worldwide, with an average of 800,000 deaths per year in the world, the World Health Organization has set out to reduce the suicide rate in each country by 10%. Colombia has adhered to these guidelines and has also proposed strategies to reduce suicide deaths, two of which focus on knowing, supervising, and generating greater control over the most frequently used mechanisms and following up on individuals with a history of suicide attempts, as well as their families. It is for this reason that this work aims to better understand the population served in two highly complex institutions. It is proposed to carry out a transversal observational study that achieves to characterize the sociodemographic and clinical variables and that determines associated factors in patients attended by suicide attempts and suicide attempts of medical severity, in the Integrated Sub-network of Health Services of the Center of the East E.S.E., UMHES Santa Clara and the National University Hospital of the city of Bogotá. The data collection will be done through clinical interviews and obtaining information from the electronic medical record.
