El articulo muestra la importancia que tiene para los organismos internacionales la educacion ambiental y como Colombia a traves de sus politicas publicas de educacion ambiental da cumplimiento a este encargo social mundial. Para indagar sobre su inclusion en el sistema educativo colombiano, se realiza un analisis comparativo entre el diseno curricular nacional y local, con la revision de un estudio presentado por la Secretaria de Educacion de Santiago de Cali, para evaluar, diagnosticar y planear sistematicamente los Proyectos Ambientales Escolares (PRAE), teniendo como base las caracteristicas de los proyectos y su inclusion en el proceso de ensenanza aprendizaje. Los resultados arrojados muestran una brecha entre lo estipulado en el diseno curricular nacional y su concrecion practica en las instituciones educativas oficiales de la ciudad. Para recoger evidencias de la inclusion del PRAE como eje transversal en el proceso de ensenanza aprendizaje, se analizaron 32 PRAE. ABSTRACT The article shows the importance that environmental education has for international organizations and how Colombia through its public policies of environmental education fulfills this global social mandate. To investigate its inclusion in the Colombian educational system, a comparative analysis is made between the national and local curricular design, with the review of a study presented by the Secretary of Education of Santiago de Cali to evaluate, diagnose and systematically plan the School Environmental Projects (PRAE), based on the characteristics of the projects and their inclusion in the teaching-learning process.
