In this article, a brief outline of the juridical evolution of the implications of digital justice is presented, in order to evidence that: 1. the concerns regarding digital justice and its development are not exclusively of these times, but have been present in all the legislative reforms; 2. its evolution had stagnated as a result of atavistic mindsets, and of a lack of will for the execution of plans that could lead to its implementation; and 3. paradoxically, an unforeseen situation arose which forced the immediate development and imposition of those legal prescriptions: a pandemic which, though producing nefarious consequences for the economy, life, and health of many, nonetheless generated the change. Had it been left solely to political will, progress would have been far off in coming.
