El papel del tejido empresarial y de las organizaciones sociales y solidarias en el desarrollo económico de san Jacinto (bolívar): un territorio inmerso en el corazón de los montes de maría
This study analyzes the incidence of the business fabric and of social and solidarity organizations in the economic development of the municipality of San Jacinto (Bolivar) from the post-conflict period. The source of information is the Mercantile Registry of the Cartagena Chamber of Commerce and is complemented by interviews with the legal representatives of the registered organizations. The results show the high presence of microenterprises (96%) within the business structure, which are not tied to a production chain that generates added value. Micro-enterprises also present problems such as lack of access to credit, low sales levels, insecurity, lack of training, and unfair competition. Other problems of lesser magnitude are related to the lack of supply, the absence of human resources and environmental management. Despite these problems, the total labor demand of companies and social and solidarity organizations in the municipality generated 367 jobs, of which 65.4% correspond to the former and 34.6% to the latter. It is evident in these productive units the need for greater accompaniment by the State to achieve a greater degree of maturation and influence local economic development.
