La memoria local como alternativa de relato en el conflicto socio-ambiental: tensiones territoriales en el Parámo de Santurbán, caso de Vetas, Santander
This work tries to demonstrate how the memories of people from a territory could play a main role in a socio-environmental conflict development and its narratives. The text is focused on the Paramo de Santurban's conflict. In this conflict, memories and representations of the villagers from Vetas (one of the affected municipalities) should be considered as important inputs in taking decisions about management and transformation of the conflict and as tools for its analysis, and resolution. The relevance of this analysis is identified in the current context, where discussions about development and extractivism are taking place. Its also relevant to understand the conflict actors stories (often forgotten), which have own notions about natural resources and livelihoods constructed and mediated by the territory where they live. This notions are different from those created from big cities, which are related to the socio-environmental conflict too. The socio-environmental conflict is constructed and transformed in the territory, far away from mass media and main cities where those work, alternative stories, based on local people's memories, acquire value when its found that exists omission and misunderstanding of one of the actors which take part in the conflict, which is the case of Veta's villagers and, more specifically, of people related with different forms of extractivism.
