Abstract:

Using on microdata from: 1990 Economic Census, 1993 Population Census and 2005 General Census, at the block level, and based on the theory of Tiebout (1956), this work carried out by Glaeser et al., (2001) and Duranton (2016b); a geoeconomic and econometric analysis of fixed effects is carried out to establish the impact of certain socioeconomic variables hitherto not analyzed, around the decision of the place of residence of people with the highest educational level (undergraduate and postgraduate) for the city of Bogota, observe if there is agglomeration and segregation at the educational level. The econometric and geoeconomic results show that the presence of amenities such as libraries, universities and shopping centers are determinants of the agglomeration of people with a postgraduate level, the presence of these variables generate segregation of people with a primary and undergraduate educational level in Bogota for the years 1993 and 2005.
