The research consisted of the economic evaluation of a project related to the follicular dynamics of fifteen (15) Dorper sheep during the normal estrous cycle and synchronized with intravaginal sponges impregnated with progesterone (P4) associated with prostaglandin (PGF2α). This was a descriptive research, with a quantitative approach. The project consisted of sincronizing the sheep on a random day of the estrous cycle, 10 days after, the device was removed and 250 µg of PGF2α was administered. As of that day, the ultrasound examinations were performed every 24 hours for 24 days until the ovulation of the cycle studied was observed; The duration was 15.0 ± 0.5 days with a pattern of 3.6 ± 0.3 waves during the estrous cycle. The number of ovulations presented at the end of the cycle was less than that observed in the follicular wave (1.0 ± 0.0 and 2.0 ± 0.2; P = 0.002). Once the results were obtained, the investment analysis of the project was carried out, and a NPV of $ 6,081,435.44 was obtained, indicating the viability of the investment and an IRR of 12%, demonstrating that the investor's expectations are met. It is concluded that the project is economically profitable and that despite increasing the number of ovulations, the synchronization of ovulation does not interfere with the follicular dynamics of Dorper sheep.
