The implementation of new technologies can bring benefits for organizations not only from an economic point of view but also an operational one. However, the existence of a new technology does not directly imply that it is beneficial for the organization and it must carry out a comparative analysis that previously confirms the results that it can obtain with its adoption. First of all, this degree thesis reviews the state of the art of public Blockchain technology that establishes benchmarking criteria with respect to traditional technology. Second, it proposes a benchmarking model between relational database technologies and Blockchain technologies, selecting and attributing values ​​to the most relevant variables according to the characteristics found in the literature. Third, it applies the benchmarking model to the Funza Cundinamarca logistics industry for ten use cases that involve information systems in their processes. Fourth, it describes processes within the Colombian context that could benefit from the proposed comparative evaluation model to finally analyze the data obtained in the comparative evaluation and offer general conclusions on all the aspects mentioned during the development of this degree project.
