The construction industry has a great importance worldwide, promoting different areas of the economy, who also contribute to the construction processes of this industry, in order to meet the needs of society in terms of housing infrastructure, education, health, roads etc. Unfortunately over time this industry has presented various problems in the development of its processes negatively impacting its productivity, generating higher costs and out-of-time deliveries. This article proposes the adoption of constructability as a continuous improvement program, with the aim of obtaining the benefits that the good application of this can bring, mainly in reducing time and costs. On the other hand, there will be an overview of the barriers to implementing constructability currently and how Colombia is in terms of its development.
