Identificación y análisis de los principales parámetros que influyen en la elección de ruta de usuarios motociclistas en el sub-modelo de asignación de transporte. Caso de estudio: Bogotá
The present research aims to analyse the main parameters that influence motorcycle users in the process of route selection. In order to fulfil the objective set, a mixed research methodology was used. Focus groups, surveys of declared preferences and discrete choice models were carried out, through which the elements that influence the route decision of motorcycle users in Bogotá were obtained. It was found that, these elements are diverse and have to do mainly with optimizing their travel time and preserving their personal safety. The state of the pavement and the presence of large vehicles (buses and trucks) are determining factors for motorcycle users when choosing a route to travel in Bogotá. With the qualitative research, it was possible to determine that although congestion is an element that influences the choice of a route, this is not only considered because of the effect it has on travel time as it is traditionally valued in transportation, but it also has other implications such as, pollution that directly impacts on motorcyclists, the discomfort of maneuvering with cars and motorcycles on either side, and the danger that interaction with large vehicles and public transportation represents for them.
