This investigation addressed the study of the right to double judicial compliance, through the interpretation of both international and national standards in order to make known what the legal effects are for the convicted person when the right to double compliance is guaranteed. Thus, the development of this work was circumscribed through analytical, hermeneutical, logical and synthetic research methods, and in this way the legal analysis was entered into Colombian criminal procedural law, in which it was possible to elucidate that despite being obliged to do so, the prerogative to the double merit examination that is protected in the constitutional block, is not fully guaranteed in the country, since it was concluded that even in the Supreme Court of Justice, some characteristics are unknown of this prerogative.
