Colombia in the field of self-sustainable resources such as solar brightness, wind and ocean; It is projected as a country with great potential for the generation of electrical energy through these resources, which greatly reduces thousands of tons of non-renewable and polluting wastes that are produced daily in large cities and particularly the city of Santa Marta due to its enormous potential that it offers for the creation of renewable energies thanks to the bay by which it is surrounded. Taking into account the above, the main objective of the project is to propose the possibility of developing wave energy, so that, with it, energy is supplied in a stable, renewable and reliable way to the Samaria population, since, currently due to the energy problems and the deterioration of the service of the company ELECTRICARIBE which is in charge of supplying energy to the northern zone of Colombia, but does not supply the demand of the Samaria population for long periods of time. Now, initially, an investigation was carried out on the energy demands in Santa Marta and with this, to be able to determine and project future consumption until the year 2040, taking as information the population data found in the DANE databases; Subsequently, the behavior of the waves of the bay of Santa Marta will be studied to estimate the energy potential by characterizing the height of the waves and their frequency, which will allow us to identify the equipment required to supply the city. Finally, the study of the possible location is carried out under the review of the current regulations imposed by the DIMAR, to avoid the intersection of the park with some type of large vessel and thus specify the number of units of the motor wave system that They are required to provide the Samaria population with a stable energy supply.
