It is common to evaluate the impact of social welfare policies from the basis of economic indicators. However, some research has shown that it is possible to understand the phenomenon of subjective well-being through measurements that allow to identify the impact of policies and social factors on the perception of people's own individual well-being, focusing the measurement from sociological aspects and not only economical. This research project seeks to carry out an approach to the understanding of the social factors associated with the subjective well-being of people in Colombia, based on the possibilities of access to private services for the own well-being and the services and programs of the State for the social welfare. For this, the data provided by the 2018 National Quality of Life Survey carried out by the Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadistica (DANE) was used and a logistic regression model was carried out to determine the variables that are related to the subjective welfare, within private services for the own welfare and the services of the State for the social welfare. It should be clarified that the research has a limited scope that depends on the variables contained in the National Quality of Life Survey, the quantitative methodology used, and the lack of inclusion of qualitative variables that complement the understanding of the phenomenon; variables that could help to blurry the dichotomy between subjective and objective factors, and highlight the social spectrum between the structure and the individual in which the reality of access to public and private services in the Colombian market unfolds. Therefore, the logistic regression model is only an approximation to the understanding of social well-being and requires other methodologies that allow a theoretical deepening to achieve a more profound understanding of the social phenomenon in question.
