Ancestral wayuu games were born during daily grazing activities, where children, adolescents and young people take advantage of the time creating and executing games as a form of entertainment. The research was qualitative, using direct observation, the semi-structured interview and the use of primary and secondary information sources as data collection techniques. Bearing in mind the intention of the research, which is to know the importance of ancestral games as a mechanism of cultural valuation and strengthening of social relations within the Wayuu ethnic group, they feel that they are elderly people, preferably grandparents and grandmothers who know the historical context of ancient games. The interpretation and analysis of the results was carried out using the NVivo version 12 computer software. The results found evidenced the ancestral games for the Wayuu ethnic group, which are a fundamental part of the knowledge transmission process. The loss of these practices within the younger population makes their rescue essential. Ancestral games mark the link and interaction between the Wayuu being and his environment, improving the bonds of brotherhood, coexistence, solidarity and reciprocity between ethnic members.
