The general objective of this research is to identify and evaluate the factors associated with resistance and attitude to change in a research organization in Colombia, which is undergoing a process of planned change; the instruments used were the Change Resistance Scale (RTC) and the Attitude to Organizational Change Scale (EAC), in addition a survey was used to collect socio-demographic data. This research is quantitative, and the sample was 136 workers from two areas of the organization. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software (Python v 3.6). The results indicate that there is a relationship between the factors of Emotional Reaction (ER) and the Fear factor (T- 0.001). There was also a relationship between the factors of Short Term Thinking (SHT) and Cognitive Rigidity (CR) with the Acceptance factor (A- 0.007 and 0.009) associated with the attitude towards change; it was possible to identify that 40% of the sample evaluated, with a strategic leader role (>11 years) presents an average level of resistance to change and a smaller group of support contributors show very high levels of resistance to change (12% - 2-5 years; 18% 6-10 years). In conclusion, a correlation is identified between factors of Resistance to Change and attitude to change and a segmentation of the population with very high levels of resistance that must be managed in order to succeed in the strategic change proposed by the study organization.
