English has become one of the most important languages in the world thanks to the expansion of its use in marketing, science and technology. The demand for learning this language has therefore increased, so companies increasingly require people who have the ability to communicate with the world. After teaching English to adults aged 40 to 50, some needs were perceived to learn this language in order to get better professional or personal opportunities. However, the materials found for teaching English to this particular age group were not suited to meet their particular needs. Some material was designed focusing on this specific target group; it was framed within the theories of andragogy (Knowles, 2001) and experiential narrative and pedagogically supported by the natural approach (Krashen y Terrell, 1983) and the communicative approach (Littlewood, 1996). The research question that guided the development of this work was: What material, framed within the andragogic and oral experiential narrative perspectives, can be appropriate to foster the learning of elementary English (A1) in adults aged 40 to 50? Following the methodological route proposed by Jolly and Bolitho (2011) for the elaboration of materials, and basing the proposal on an analysis of materials and needs analysis carried out with adults aged 40 to 50, a web page called Yes, we can! was created. The page was piloted with 10 adults aged 40 to 50 who expressed a desire to learn English. Data was collected by means of the think-aloud protocol, a questionnaire and an interview, which were helpful to evaluate the material. The results allowed for the identification of strengths and weaknesses in the webpage. The material seeks to be the beginning of future research on adult learning and teaching.
