This research project seeks to simulate the conditions of the Mars atmosphere and see how an aerodynamic airfoil behaves under these circumstances, seeking to open the doors for the future design of aircraft that allow a more efficient and faster exploration of the Martian surface. Also, it seeks to understand the complexity of the flow in the Mars atmosphere, given its low density compared to that of the earth, and the support given by a low gravity coefficient. These two factors reduce the lifting force and efficiency, which makes the flight in the Mars atmosphere even more complex.
