The competitive environment has led companies to seek strategies to create qualities and characteristics, which affect the product, so that in addition to meeting customer needs, generating this satisfaction that goes beyond the expected requirements. Hence the importance of using engineering tools in industrial applications such as process simulation and algorithms applied in the distribution of facilities in order to support decision-making within organizations. The study was developed in a company engaged in the production of circuit breakers, necessary element as a protective measure in the industrial electrical sector of the city of Cartagena de India. The application of the proposed methodology allowed a reduction in the total cost of transport equivalent to 18.6%, for improvements in productivity, reduced distances between areas, cycle time reduction by 25.7% and increased the quantity of finished products by 0.62%. Experimental results show a significant improvement in the production system for the redesign of the plant, when the hybrid model Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) combined with Computerized Relative Allocation of Facilities (CRAFT) and evaluated the simulation is applied, thus allowing satisfaction in delivery volumes to customers of the company.
