This article is about hope, and the possibilities that it has in the field of alter communication in the south of Bogota city. From a testimonial and ethnographic exploration, a map of potentialities is established, a projection of possible opportunities to be developed from the alter communicative exercise, taking into account the historical evolution of alternative, community and popular practices which from the field of communication germinated and they got consolidated in the southern territories, and they have been reconfiguring in the last 10 years, among other issues due to the crisis of two key scenarios: the discrediting of the process of community radio stations in Bogota, after its legalization in 2008, and the delegitimation of the participation and deliberation scenarios created within the framework of the Public Policy of Community Communication in Bogota.
