International trade was presented in the Brundtland commision report as an indispensable element to reach sustainable development. However, consent doesn't exist in this respect. Although it is certain that there are those who think that the international trade - environment relationship is of the win - win type, there are also those who consider that this win - lose relationship. This article tries to identify in which of these two scenarios Colombia is, with the spirit of opening a reflection space in this respect, considering that the current government has presented exports as one of the main actions to reach the economic growth of the country.
