Object: The intention of this article is to evidence results derived from an academical research process placed in a community, whose interest is observing the social and institutional dynamics of Cooperativa Multiactiva de Productores y Turismo Agropecuario – COMPYTA, in the rural settlement of Bajo Arroyo, municipality of Villamaria – Caldas, in Colombia. Methodology: Considering qualitative research methods, conceptual categories and context were analyzed through the application of tools for data gathering and analysis. This, in the aims of establishing the relation of the associates in the cooperative with local and external actors in the territory. Finding: COMPYTA is a local cooperative organization that manages presence in the territory and delivers sense of articulated teamwork. Through the actions placed by their associates, it is possible to establish conscience for teamwork and generation of value for those people who join their activities. Conclusion: Contributions from cultural and communications management were fundamental to identify the social and institutional dynamics in the cooperative. This eased the articulation of different while searching for the actions and recommendations to strengthen internal and external processes, being beneficiated the people in the community in the long term.
