Hace parte de la tercera generacion de boyacenses del siglo XIX con vigencia transicional entre los siglos XIX y XX, la denominada Generacion Modernista, cronologicamente es llamada tambien Generacion 1880. Corresponde a los boyacenses que nacieron entre los anos 1840 y 1880, y cuya vigencia generacional o plenitud se manifiesta entre 1880 y 1920, en las decadas de transicion al mundo contemporaneo. Entre los personajes boyacenses mas representativos de la Generacion modernista mencionamos los siguientes: Rafael Reyes Prieto, Enrique Alvarez Bonilla, Adriano Paez, Diego Mendoza, Carlos Arturo Torres, Moises Higuera, Climaco Calderon Reyes, entre otros.
