This book is the result of two years of participatory research alongside acid attackssurvivors. The research was conducted within the framework of the project GenderViolence and Public Health of the El Bosque`s University School of Psychology, with thesupport and participation of the Fundacion Recontruyendo Rostros, the District Secretaryfor Women of the city of Bogota, The Simon Bolivar Hospital and with the technicalassistance of the Colombian Ministry of Health and Social Protection. It proposes tools to provide care and support to acid attacks survivors, their familiesand significant people in their environment, embracing human rights, gender equity,psychosocial and transformative approaches and the do not harm principle. It is aimed atMental Health professionals from the different public and private Health Services ProvidingInstitutions attached to a Benefit Plan Management Entity (EAPB) in the national territory,who are responsible for the care, support and monitoring in the different phases of healthcare: Prehospital Care, Emergency Care, Hospitalization, ambulatory care and the post-hospitalization follow-up by outpatient visit.
