Efecto de un protocolo de entrenamiento grupal en habilidades de la Terapia Dialéctica-Conductual (DBT), en la desregulación emocional de adolescentes hospitalizados en una unidad de salud mental
The aim of this study was to establish the effect of a skills training protocol based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy on 17 emotionally dysregulated adolescents hospitalised in a mental health unit. This was done via mixed convergent methodology, conformed up by a quasi-experimental design Pretest- Protest without a control group, complemented by an analysis of content from focal group interviews. Quantitative results indicated statistically significant changes in the indicators of emotional dysregulation. Regarding qualitative results, changes were observed in participants’ comprehension regarding emotional experience, and the perception that the protocol was useful to learn effective coping strategies to manage difficult emotions. Results are discussed, methodological strengths and limitations, as well as suggestions for future studies are considered.
