Collaborative consumption obtains special interest within the post-crisis society of 2008. The weaknesses of the state towards economic power organizations are recognized and the need for social self-regulation arises. This is not only observed in individuals who attend cooperation and solidarity systems through technology such as collaborative consumption. The same applies to social pressure for large corporations, a responsibility towards their stakeholders and the community. This paper proposes a theoretical discussion on the elements that make collaborative consumption look like a new institution, welcoming the approaches of the old and the new institutionalist school, as well as a reflection from the economic dynamism that Schumpeter recognizes. It also seeks to generate a discussion that relates to collaborative consumption with organizational social responsibility. The methodology consisted of a bibliographic review of these topics to later give a discussion. At the end of this document you can find an academic proposal aimed at discussing the deepest form of the existing relationship between collaborative consumption and RSO. Recognizing collaborative consumption that is a new institution that extends in the field of individual interactions.
