Suerte de Cana: A transmedia experience on sugar cane in the Valle del is an investigative, journalistic and transmedia project that seeks to create the universe of sugar cane in Colombia and in Valle del Cauca. The issues dealt with in transmedia production revolve around four fundamental axes in the story. Firstly, the environmental situation in Valle del Cauca is behind the sugarcane crops that have caused the significant loss of water resources, disappearance of ecosystems in both fauna and flora, and pollution. The political and economic problems tell the story of the people behind the power of sugar in the region and its links to protect the candy market. In the cultural circumstance, the importance of sugarcane for music and for the culture of Valle del Cauca and its influence today is discussed. Finally, there is the social perspective of the sugarcane grower as the main actor. Their income and the low quality of life of them, becomes a fundamental story to understand Suerte de Cana.
