This undergraduate work is a bid to systematize the work experience and knowledge acquired in the profession of being a bookseller in two university bookstores, the bookstore of the National University of Colombia, Bogota headquarters and that of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Therefore, this systematization of learning seeks to generate inputs that are applicable to a context of reference service in a library. This seeks to transmit the perception of this profession from lived experiences, with the intention of generating an awareness of the value and impact of this profession that serves as an active agent of cultural dissemination in a multicultural urban community with diverse sociocultural realities. To develop this project, the methodology of systematization of experiences will be applied, which seeks to develop a structured model in which the experiences that contribute the most to the research problem are chosen, which will then be exposed from various perspectives, approaches and specific contexts; Thus generating a description of processes, a diagnosis of situations, lessons learned and benefits that are expected to be transmitted to future professionals in Information Science, Library and Archival Science.
