The main purpose of this essay is to show the importance of good management practices of Corporate Governance in companies with the implications, both economic and social, resulting from the conduct of organizations and because they regulate the relations between the different interest groups within these. The document is developed in its first part addressing issues such as: a) What is it for), b) Stages in the adoption of Codes of Corporate Governance of the OCDE, entity that as international and intergovernmental organism issue them to serve as point of reference to the companies who want to adopt codes of good government, or to those that by law must implement them. Finally the evolution of the Corporate Governance in Colombia is presented both in the companies publicly traded, as in the closes and family societies.
