This research is pertinent and justified since its purpose is to analyze the articulation of the Colombian railway system with the maritime and fluvial ports of the country and to determine if it is in any way affecting the efficiency of the system of cargo transportation in Logistical processes of exports and imports that are generated in the national territory, so that it can be determined at the end, if the non-existence in an intermodal freight transport system is affecting national productivity against the requirements of the world economy.
