This project seeks to mitigate the emotional impact on the social reintegration of a patient in the rehabilitation process by the loss of a lower extremity. Through the concept of design for hapiness as an essential value, this project creates a better quality of life. This project carried out in Bogota-Colombia, begins by the non-acceptance of the society before a person in a condition of disability. The result of the perception of the social reintegration after a rehabilitation process, proves that the use o the prostetics is not the ¬nal goal. Understanding this result, starts the project's exploration phase. Symmetri is crearted from the exploration phase, where it is posible to depict the importance of the user's emotional state while atempting to seeks the corporal symmetry. The desing is composed by two parts: 1) a ¬xed piece to the prosthesis where it is adjusted by means of a socket SNAP-Fit reducing usage steps and 2) an aestetic cosmesis. The production process is made by 3D printing and its material is Hd-Glass that has the mechanical properties necessary for its use. Thus, the main innovation values are: 1) the personalization of the cosmesis and 2) the easy way of use. From this perspective, Symetry presents a viable producto, that generates the need for consumption, minimize the environmental impact by its form of production and biodegradable properties and that enhance the product as unique in the local market.
