Resumen El presente articulo muestra el resumen de la Tesis Doctoral donde se implementa un modelo didactico para favorecer la transicion de la matematica de la escuela secundaria a la universidad, con base en la resolucion de problemas retadores como herramienta didactica. De este modo los resultados practicos experimentales obtenidos en la investigacion demuestran la validez de las bases teoricas desarrolladas y su aplicabilidad en la escuela secundaria y universitaria al conseguir un mejor entendimiento de las matematicas elementales y a su vez un desarrollo del pensamiento matematico en el estudiante. TRANSITION OF THE MATHEMATICS FROM THE SECONDARY SCHOOL TO THE UNIVERSITY THROUGH THE EMPHASIS IN THE MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING Abstract This article shows the summary of the Doctoral thesis where it is implemented a didactic model to favor the transition from high school to university mathematics, based on the solution of challenging problems as a didactic tool. In this way the experimental results obtained in the research demonstrate the validity of the theoretical bases developed and its applicability on the secondary and university levels by obtaining a better understanding of elementary mathematics and in turn a development of mathematical thinking in the student.
