Abstract:

The women of Paquilo, Sumapaz, who participated in the agrarian struggles of the mid-20th century, have been omitted from the historiography and memories of the region. For this reason, they themselves proposed to work with their stories and initiate a process of local memory. This to reflect on the different roles they played in supporting the movement, maintaining the family, production and land and generating their own organizational spaces such as the Regional Women's Committee, affiliated to the Communist Party. This participation of women contributed significantly to the Sumapaz agrarian movement. By reconstructing these life stories, and investigating the role of personal archives, we entered into a reflection on the role of orality in the history of the rural world, the presence of textual and photographic documents in some families, and the relevance of the proposal to generate women's memories in the region. This is in articulation with the purpose of the Network of Archives of Social Movements, to think of a digital platform of dissemination and exchange of knowledge about archives and memories.
