In order to establish a framework to identify criteria and approaches applicable to the design of assistive classrooms in the context of an inclusive higher education, this article reviews the concept of inclusive education, design of educational environments and assistive technologies in learning environments. It is included a review of the policy and regulations related to the topic of study, emphasizing the national regulations and specifically in the field of higher education inclusive, for extracting conditions of access, educational barriers and teaching-learning processes.Furthermore, this paper presents a literature review of design approaches applicable to the creation of inclusive educational environments to finally build the concept of assistive classrooms in a higher education environment and identify conditions of access to physical and virtual classroom.
