The purpose of the present research was to identify the relationship between Burnout syndrome and quality of life in teachers from Bogota measured with the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) with its 3 scales: Depersonalization, Emotional Exhaustion and Personal Realization; as well as measuring what the worker feels and thinks with the WHOQOL-BREF Quality of Life Questionnaire that evaluates domains: Physical Health, Psychological Health, Interpersonal Relations and Environment. There were used a quantitative method through non-experimental, transversal design, on a descriptive and correlational scope with a non-probabilistic sampling by convenience, a sample of 100 primary and high school teachers from public and private schools from Bogota, with ages between 20 and 55 years. The results indicates that 15% of teachers have high levels of emotional exhaustion, 22% have high levels of depersonalization, and 27% have a low level of reduced personal accomplishment ; being considered as indicators of prevalence of the syndrome Burnout. Correlations between the Burnout scales and the domains of quality of life were significant, making known the relationship between the variables depending on the instruments used. Differences in the quality of life and Burnout variables, by sex, type of school, marital status, and socioeconomic did not show significant differences, which allow seeing similarity to the findings in other populations reported in the investigation.
