Relación entre nivel de carga del cuidador y capacidad de autocuidado en cuidadores informales de pacientes con enfermedad crónica en el municipio de Tenjo, Cundinamarca en el año 2017
The informal caregiver of the patient with a chronic disease leaves aside behaviors that allow him a sufficient self-care, these can be diminished as the burden of their work increases. Caregivers neglect themselves to care the patient and can appear physical, mental and socioeconomic disturbances that constitute the Caregiver Burden Syndrome, which affects more the self-care agency and the care gave to the patient. Objective: To relate the burden level and the self-care agency in informal caregivers of patients with chronic disease in Tenjo, Cundinamarca during 2017, using scales, to evaluate how it influences one over the other. Methodology: It’s made a transversal, and correlational descriptive study with an analytic component, it was determined a sample of 51 carers in Tenjo, considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria, then used the scales: Zarit, ASA, Katz and APGAR, and applying the Spearman Correlation Coefficient. Results: It was obtained that the burden and the self-care have a weak inversely proportional relationship (Spearman coefficient -0.368). Further, there was a significant percent of moderate familiar dysfunctionality in the sample. And it was found a weak inverse relationship between dependence and burden. Conclusions: Exists a relation between burden and self-care, if the burden increases then the self-care will decrease, however, the self-care was sufficient y most of caregivers. Recommendations: It must study more variables that influence in the maintenance of self-care despite of the burden increases.
