The objective of this paper is to analyze the impact of education in the southeastern sub-region of the Norte de Santander department, Colombia. In this sense, the guidelines of the Ministry of National Education are considered, and the impact of the strategic lines of these in the subregion is analyzed and then contrasted with the productive vocations of the municipalities and the same existing associativity both at the institutional level and in the productive The study assumes from the beginning the perspective of human development as the deployment of skills and abilities to overcome crises or adverse situations, with education, through its design and implementation as public policy, a key variable of development.
