"Todo a la vez puede llegar a ser muy aturdidor". Percepción del peligro ocupacional en un grupo de intérpretes de lengua de señas en una institución educativa del Municipio de Facatativá
The following study sought to inquire about the perception of occupational hazard that a group of Sign Language Interpreters has in the municipality of Facatativa, knowing that they recognized occupational hazards, what dangers they considered inherent to their work and that they knew about the Occupational Health and Safety Management System. A phenomenological qualitative research was carried out with a case study design; for the collection of data, a semi-structured interview with seventy-seven questions was used and applied to five Sign Language Interpreters, said interviews were transcribed, ordered by categories and subcategories and analyzed, it was found that Signs Language Interpreters give meaning to the concept of risk and occupational hazard based on their work experiences; the occupational dangers inherent to their work that they perceive are the biomechanical ones due to physical wear; psychosocial for mental exhaustion, emotional burden, organizational problems, difficulties with the development of the role, problems with the type of hiring and the home-work-home displacement; security conditions due to the deterioration of the infrastructure of the educational institution and the inadequate location of them in the interpretation services; physicists due to inadequate lighting, noise of the indiscipline of the students and thermal discomfort due to cold and one of olfactory discomfort. Within the knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System there is little knowledge about it, but there is an interest in learning and knowing more about the activities of this System.
