Objective: With the present article of research it seeks answer the questions ?What is the current state and the impacts generated by the tourism sector in the Florence municipality? And ?What should be considered so that it becomes the axis of sustainable development of the municipality? Methodology: The investigation carried out in the municipality of Florencia was in the framework of a descriptive approach. It was developed with mixed techniques in which both qualitative and quantitative aspects were taken into account with which it was possible to carry out an analysis of impacts with greater clarity and according to reality. Finding: The importance that tourism has collect for economy in Colombia. It has not been improper in the department of Caqueta and especially in its capital Florence. It what positions it today as one of the key sectors that could boost the regional economy. Conclusion: Its important stand out that the Post-Conflict. It has visibly improved security conditions in Florence and in general throughout the department of Caqueta so that has allowed the inhabitants of the region to bet on tourism as a means to achieve sustainable local development. It’s for its ability to strengthen social cohesion, improve social imaginary, conserve the environment and generate income for local communities.
