The text analyzes the residential practices in five informal consolidated neighborhoods in Bogotá, in order to identify their interactions with the processes and projects of social mobility of the owners. The research addresses the role of residential practices in the life strategies of households, the owner's processes of social and residential mobility and the analysis, from an intergenerational perspective, of the social and residential situation of the adult children. The research deepens in the understanding of the economic centrality that hous1ng has in the life strategies. Added to a low level of social and residential mobility and low opportunities for upward mobility of the owners and their children.
